Walk inside Truist Park.
The Aga Khan Foundation’s Walk & Run events unite communities in a shared effort to raise awareness and funds for tackling the root causes of poverty through sustainable solutions, transforming the lives of millions of people.
How to participate
There are two ways to take part.
Pick the one you want. You can do either on your own or with a team, and either way you can raise money for it.

The 5K
The 5K is the first event of the morning, starting on Battery Avenue, and the route winds through the neighborhood next to Truist Park. There will be three water stations along the way. The course is certified by USA Track & Field, which allows for accurate times, official rankings, and qualification for larger races.

The Walk
The walk is held inside Truist Park, home of the Atlanta Braves. You will enter through the 3rd Base Gate and exit through the Right Field Gate. The walk goes off in two waves, late morning, after the 5K. It is free, and it is open to every age and every pace.
However you join, you can raise money for it.
Registering gives you a page to share with the people who would sponsor you. Everything raised through it supports the Aga Khan Foundation’s work on the root causes of poverty. If you cannot make it on the day, you can still give.

Why we walk
Building a future where we all thrive together.
The Aga Khan Foundation is a leading global development organization working to address the root causes of poverty. For more than 50 years, AKF has helped create strong community institutions that support sustainable, locally-driven initiatives to improve the quality of life for millions of people, irrespective of their place of origin, faith, or gender. Every registration and every donation on November 15 supports that work.
Questions
Before you come, please read these.
Do I have to register if I am only walking?
Yes. The walk is free, but everyone attending needs a registration, including children. Registering and checking in helps us plan for our guests, as it tells us how many people to expect for the route, the water and the food. Thank you for supporting the event and the cause.
Where do I park, and what does it cost?
Park in the Red, Green, Yellow or Purple decks at The Battery Atlanta. The Orange and Silver/Delta decks are not available for this event. The first two hours are free. After that The Battery charges by the hour, and rates are set closer to the event, so check batteryatl.com before you come. There is limited metered street parking, and payment is enforced. Each deck has a few EV chargers with contactless payment.
What time should I get there?
Early. Check-in is on Battery Avenue, across from the Coca-Cola Roxy, and it opens well before the first event. If you are running the 5K, get in line as soon as check-in opens, because the 5K goes off first and you cannot join once it has started. The walk follows in two waves late morning, and if you miss your wave you may not be able to get into the walk inside Truist Park. We are expecting large crowds, so allow time to park, check in, and get to the start. Exact times are confirmed closer to the day and go out in your registration email.
Can I register on the day of the event?
Yes, there will be on-site registration at the Check-In Desk. We highly encourage you to register ahead of time, as it is faster on the day and guarantees your spot in the timed events, which have limited capacity.
What does a general admission ticket get me?
General admission covers the event space and most of what happens in it: both entertainment stages, the food trucks, the silent auction, the Immersive 360 experience, the merchandise tent and the donation tents. The 5K, the walk inside Truist Park and the children’s park are registered separately, so if you want to do any of those, sign up for them as well. Everyone still checks in at the Check-In Desk to pick up credentials.
Where does the 5K actually go?
The 5K starts and finishes on Battery Avenue, across from the 3rd base entrance to Truist Park, and the route winds through the neighborhood next to the ballpark. There will be three water stations along the route. The course is certified by USA Track & Field, which allows for accurate times, official rankings, and qualification for larger runs with performance thresholds.
Do we really walk inside the stadium?
Yes. The walk is held inside Truist Park, home of the Atlanta Braves. You will enter through the 3rd Base Gate and exit through the Right Field Gate. The walk is the free part of the day, and it is open to every age and every pace.
Is it accessible, and is there somewhere for older family members?
Yes. Senior drop-off is at the Red Deck, with volunteers helping where they can, and a limited number of wheelchairs available to check out first come, first served. There is a Seniors Circle near the restrooms and the water and snack station, in the middle of the action rather than off to the side.
What is there to do if I am not running or walking?
Plenty. Two stages of live music and dance run most of the day, there are food trucks along a closed-off Battery Avenue, a silent auction, a VR experience, and a kids park with a home run derby and batting cages. A lot of people come for the morning rather than the race.
Where does the money go?
